(Mobile, AL) -- Fires are burning on two barges in Alabama's Mobile River, and three people are critical condition. Authorities are keeping their distance from the blaze due to the volatility of the fire that erupted hours after a series of explosions on the barges at a docking area Wednesday night. The shipping channel has been closed and fire crews are letting the fires burn. A one-mile safety zone has been established around the barges. The blasts were heard up to 20 miles away. All people from the fire scene are believed to be accounted for.
